Sangha via Electronic Communication

Email — and Web-based communities like forums — give us easy communication all over the globe. For handicapped people like me, electronic communication can give us human contact we otherwise lack.

At the same time, e-com has its problems. We don't see the facial expressions of the people we're "talking" to, or hear their tone of voice. Keeping track of a conversation among a group is much more challenging than in a face-to-face gathering.

A sangha is a group who practice together, and support each other's individual practice. Words can be a poor vehicle for what we're about, in Buddhist practice.

Here you will find thoughts on how an electronic sangha can work.
